If Only Wishes Could Be Dreams

Part 6: Together, at Last

“AYEKA!!!!” cried everyone. Everyone was there except for Yosho and Nobiyuki. Ayeka had gotten her wish. They sat together in basically nowhere. They were all dead, but all together. That’s all that mattered. Ayeka hugged each and everyone of them. She even kissed Tenchi on the cheek. Ryoko didn’t seem to care. She understood.

“I’m so sorry,” Ayeka cried, looking down and sobbing. That’s when she noticed her white robe. It was more beautiful than any kimono she owned. Everyone else was wearing one, too.

“I’m an angel??” she gasped. “But I have done so much wrong!!”

“You couldn’t help it. You couldn’t control your mind,” Washu smiled. Ayeka smiled back to her. Suddenly, Sasami gasped. She began floating upwards. She closed her eyes and spun slowly. Her robe became a kimono. Her hair fell down into two longer pigtails at the bottom of her head with three ponytail holders about two feet apart. She grew taller. As she turned around, the triangle with the line down the middle on her forehead dissapeared and two dots took its place. She opened her eyes. They were much different.

“Tsunami,” Ayeka gasped. She smiled at them.

“Ayeka, understand that this wasn’t your fault,” she began. Ayeka nodded. “When I created all of you, I meant for you to meet up. I meant for everything to happen. But something went wrong. Ayeka formed something in her head. Some sort of cell. It became a disease that mutliplied whenever something went wrong in Ayeka’s life. It ate away at her brain. The brain tried to recover itself but the replacments turned Ayeka crazy. She became two. The real Ayeka was locked inside. She had all her senses. But she couldn’t talk how she felt or move herself. She killed everyone except Sasami. She killed herself. When I created you, I meant for you to be how you are. I meant for Mihoshi to be a klutz. Her mishaps brought danger that brought all of you closer together. Tenchi was kind. I made him that way so that he would give you all time to become close to him and learn to like you. I made Sasami hate to be a Princess so that she would run away with Ayeka and they would meet with you. I made Ayeka proud so that she would carry on as queen someday no matter what. I did not create Ryoko, but helped her to live. I made her listen to Kagato so that Yosho would chase her to earth and she would meet up with you all. Nobiyuki I did not make. He is a normal human being. Yosho I made to be fierce yet loyal. I only helped Ryo-oh-ki to survive. Washu I created to help everyone to understand things. But when Sasami killed herself, everything turned around. But now, I can recreate all of you through me. I can not revive Nobiyuki as he has no powers. I can not revive Yosho as he was to die very soon. I would only be reviving him for a few months, so I shall let him rest in peace.” That’s when Tenchi’s cries could be heard.

“Tenchi, don’t cry.Yosho would die very soon. He has held back from telling you about the pain he suffers from. He is resting in peace now. Nobiyuki I can not help. I did not create him nor is he linked to me in any way. I’m sorry,” Tsunami explained.

“I have no more family. They’re gone,” Tenchi cried, looking at the ground.

“Yes you do,” said Ayeka. She lifted Tenchi’s chin up. “Ryoko may be your wife, but we are all your family. We shall always be that way.” Tenchi smiled.

“Maybe you’re right,” smiled Tenchi. “I think you are.”

“I know she is,” Ryoko laughed. Then, Sasami came out of Tsunami and joined them. Tsunami told them to link hands in a circle while closing their eyes. They did. Tsunami got in the center. She began spinning faster and faster. Light shone from her forehead to everyone elses. There was a flash.

“We’re home,” said Tenchi.

“Breakfast is ready!!!” Sasami yelled. Everyone came to the table.

“The garden is almost ready. I’ll go get the seeds after breakfast,” Ayeka said, taking off her garden hat. She wore jeans and a T-shirt. She decided to only visit Jurai rarely and become a normal teenager on earth. Sasami also wore jeans and a T-shirt.

“I almost finished the repairs in my lab. Mihoshi is my helper. When she listens, she really can be useful,” Washu smiled.

“I try my hardest,” said Mihoshi, grinning from ear to ear.

“While Ayeka’s working on the flower garden, I’m working on the vegetable garden. Ryo-oh-ki is quite the little helper when she isn’t eating carrots,” Tenchi said. Ryo-oh-ki meowed happily.

“For now, I’ll just help all of you guys. My job will come later,” Ryoko sighed. And it did. A year later, a baby was born into the family. Ryoko’s job was to care for the baby girl. Her name was Suzume. They raised it together. Tenchi had also resolved the conflict between Ryoko and Ayeka.

“King Azusa has two wives. Why can’t I??” Tenchi asked. He married Ayeka soon after. Ryoko didn’t mind. Not at all. They were a family now. Everyone played their part. Ayeka tried to be especially helpful for a long time. Every night she prayed her new prayer.

“Thank you, Tsunami. You saved us all. I wished if only wishes could be dreams and all my dreams could come true. It did come true. And it was still a wish. My only dream came true. And that is how it will stay.”
