Please know that the reproduction of these songs is for non-profit purposes, and no copyright infringment is intended on this, or the final chapter, which will feature the beginning of "Tenchi Muyo! In Love." I am not rewriting the whole of Tenchi Muyo In Love as a whole. The beginning of the movie is the end of my fanfic. I hope you enjoy the last two chapters of "Shin Tenchi Muyo: Kagato's Attack!" Thank you for enjoying my fanfic. Jason Boaz PS: Two of the songs on this chapter will be Japanese. I don't think it's necessary for me to post translations for the two songs, since places like Washyuu's Anime Nexus and Aeka's S Shrine have them. Enjoy the fanfic. Oh yeah. Because of all of the songs on this fic, at least ten in all, it'll make a long chapter. So, I decided that I should split this chapter up into two chapters, instead. Part two will come, later. Enjoy ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In almost no time at all, the Dimensional Tunnel sent the Tenchi Family back to Earth. As soon as they returned, Tenchi told Ayeka about what her father was up to. Ayeka: (is shocked) He wants you to DO WHAT?!?!?! Tenchi: You heard me, Ayeka. Your father wants me to lead all of you into battle against Kain. Ayeka: I WAS RIGHT! I knew he was up to something. He's always been awfully...overprotective of me. Tenchi: Yeah. I can tell. Mihoshi: Well, we should go eat some dinner, now. I'm starving. Kiyone: Yeah, Mihoshi. I'm feeling a bit hungry, too. Yugi: Come on, guys. Let's eat. Tenchi Family and Nagi: YEAH! After they ate, Ryoko and Ayeka wanted to help Sakuya and Yugi with bedding arrangements. For five days, the two sisters were sleeping on the living room floor. The suggestion Ryoko made surprised everyone, including Tenchi and Sakuya. By now, everyone was in their casual outfits. Sakuya: I'm glad you guys accepted us as part of your family. But, unfortunately, we don't have a room to call our own. Yugi: Yeah. We don't have a bedroom, and there isn't that many places for us to sleep. Ayeka: I'm sure that we can work something out for you two. Ryoko: No need for that, Ayeka. It's already been taken care of. They'll go in my old room. Sakuya: WHAT?! (drops her stuff) Yugi: HUH?! Tenchi: What did you say? Ryoko: I said they'll use my old room, from now on. Besides...I don't need it anymore. Ayeka: Ryoko, this isn't like you. Tenchi: If you're giving them your room, where will you sleep? Ryoko: No worries, Tenchi. I've been putting all of my stuff in an unused storage room, for the past five days. It's so perfect, I decided to make it my new room. I've taken care of EVERYTHING. Sakuya looked down, for a moment. Then, she gave Ryoko a hug which was the caliber of Misaki's hugs...in other words, the hug was a bit...tight. Ayeka: (sees Sakuya look down) Sakuya? Tenchi: Are you alright? Sakuya: (hugs Ryoko with Misaki-like proportions) THANK YOU, RYOKO! You're so great! Ryoko: (feels the wind getting hugged out of her) You're...crushing...me... Sakuya: Oopsie. (lets go) Sorry about that, Ryoko. Ryoko: It's alright. True, you have changed, a lot. But in some ways, you're still the same old Sakuya. (smiles) You're still sweet, kind and gentle. Only now, you have memories of the past...a father, who loves you, and you have friends all around you, as well. You have everything, now. (smiles again) Sakuya: Thank you all for your kindness. I'll do my best not to disappoint you guys in the Karaoke Duel. Ayeka: I'm glad to hear that. The Karaoke Duel is a Tenchi Family tradition. It happens twice a month. And, it's a very fun way to settle disputes without violence. It was at that moment, that Sasami added a comment. Sasami: You're going to love it, Yugi! It's so fun! I know you'll love it. Yugi: Thanks. I know I will. (smiles) Sasami: YEAH! High five! Yugi enthusiastically gave Sasami a high five, and was really excited about what would happen, two days from now. Yugi: (gives Sasami a high five) ALRIGHT!! Man, I CAN'T WAIT! It's so exciting! Sasami: It certainly is. Then, Achika came in, and was once again dressed in her lavender yukata. She wanted to be a part of this, as well. Achika: Tenchi? I want to be a part of this Karaoke Duel, too. I've had such a wonderful week with you, Noboyuki...and everyone else here. That's why I want to sing along with the others, before I depart. Tenchi: I understand, mom. (hugs her, and cries) I...I never got the chance to say goodbye to you, when you died...I hope that these past few days make up for lost time. Achika: Don't worry, Tenchi. It has. Dry your eyes, son. (wipes away Tenchi's tears) There. That's better. Cheer up. You'll be able to see me again, soon. (smiles) Tenchi: You...you mean it? Achika: Of course, I do. It'll happen, soon. I promise. Tenchi: Thank you, mother. Achika: You're welcome. (smiles) Now, let's go to bed. Noboyuki's waiting for me. Though my time here is short, Noboyuki and I are once again living our lives to the fullest. That's all that really matters, to me. Being with him...and with you, my dearest son. Tenchi: Thank you, mother. See you in the morning. Achika: Good night. Two days have passed. Ayeka had gathered Sasami, Yugi, Sakuya, Kiyone, Mihoshi, Nagi and Lady Achika into Washuu's lab. The Karaoke Duel would occur in one hour...and Ayeka had a big problem. Washuu: What's wrong, Ayeka? Ayeka: The Karaoke Duel is one hour away...and I'm having trouble deciding on the song I'll sing. Ryoko: Why is this happening? Ayeka: Because, I know only three songs. The first would be awfully bad, and would give me a lower ranking than Ryoko. Ryoko: Which song is that? Ayeka: (looks at Ryoko) You really wanna know? Ryoko: Yeah. Sing it, already. I promise you that nothing will escape this room. It'll be between us girls, alright? Ayeka: Alright. Here goes nothing. And so, Ayeka sang "I'm the Only One." Ayeka: (sings) Oh, I'm the only one....you've never known somone like ME...so witty and so beautiful...oh, I'm the only one, just try to find a hold with ME...it's like looking for a needle in...A HAYSTACK. No, I can't say half of what I want to say...no, I can't say even half because I am so modest...So now, I say to you...(points to Ryoko) You 700 year old mummy woman...I envy you for your incredible...BLACKNESS. Ryoko realized Ayeka was right about the song. Ryoko: YUCK! (holds her nose, and waves her hand in disgust) You're right, Ayeka. That song stinks! And, I'm NOT 700 years old. Ayeka: I know. (shrugs) I don't know why I wrote it that way. Sakuya: Aw, crud. I wonder what the next option is. Ayeka: Well...there's the song I've written, for when I'm finally ready to make Tenchi mine...but...I don't think he's ready for it. Although, it might give me a high score, in the duel. Ryoko: What's it called? Ayeka: I call it, "Oujosama to oyobi," or "Call me princess!" Sakuya: Does it involve that outfit your other self wore? Ayeka: Yes, that's it exactly. Every Juraian girl is required to pick an outfit as unique as their personality, and to make a song that's just as unique. I'd show it to you, but I can't, because of my fear of turning Tenchi away. Washuu: Wrongo. I can solve the problem, without Tenchi's knowledge. Ayeka begged Washuu about the solution to her problem. Washuu was more than happy to show Ayeka an android duplicate of Tenchi for her to use. When the solution came, Ayeka told Sasami to get ready. Ayeka: Please, Washuu. What is the solution to my problem? Washuu: The solution is this. (unveils a new invention) This is an android duplicate of Tenchi! It'll walk, talk and think just like the real thing! Ayeka: Thank you, Washuu. (looks at everyone) If any of you don't want to see my song, please say so. I won't hold it against you. Yugi: Look...we're family. We'll help you find a solution to your problem, together. Kiyone: No matter what it takes, we'll help you. Mihoshi: Even if it means fighting a zillion Wargones! Achika: I'll do my best to help, as well. Ayeka: Thank you. Sasami, it's time. Sasami: Alright. Let's do it. Ryoko: I hope it's nothing like that poem you wrote, which just says, "Tenchi my lord, Oh my Lord Tenchi, Tenchi my lord, Tenchi my lord, Oh my lord Tenchi." Ayeka: (turns red, and shakes her head) No, Ryoko...the Juraian bridegroom training ceremony and song require a lot of thought, and emotion. It won't be like that, I assure you. (cues Washuu) HIT IT! Washuu: Gotcha! With that, Washuu turned on some lights, and some music. Ayeka sang a song in Japanese. As Ryoko watched, she saw Ayeka go into a intricate number, and saw her rival make some impressive S&M moves on Tenchi2. Ryoko began to realize why Ayeka didn't want to sing this song. Ayeka: Iya desu wa dame desu wa, anata to mo aoru o-kata ga. Bakemono no yuuwaku ni o-kokoro o midasareru nante. Daiji-na shimei o seotta o-kata, watakushi, namida o shinode, anata o KITAE-NAOSU WA...Kakugo o nasaimase, ai no muchi de gozaimasu! (wields a whip) Sono taruda o-kokoro o, chikara komete takaki NAOSHIMASU! (Laughs wildly) Ryoko: (thinks to herself) The whip of love? That's what SM Queen Ayeka mentioned! I wonder what's next? Ryoko found out soon enough, when she saw Ayeka take off her intricate blue and purple kimono, revealing the same outfit her counterpart wore, but with a few differences. She had a necklace with an emerald in its center. She wore anklets with fur on them, and some wristbands. She even put a flower in her hair. Ayeka: Ikemasen narimasen, Ai wa kiyouko tadashii mono. Ai shiau, futari ni wa, chi no tsunagari ga ichiban desu...(takes off her kimono) Jurai no mirai o mamoru tame desu, jaaku-na, oni ni chikazukeba, watakushi GA SABAKIMASU WA...(licks her whip) Gaman o nasaimase, hora mada mada tarimasen, sono mayoi ga kieru made, kono kursai de, SHIBATTE AGEMASU! (flings some chains, and laughs insanely) Ryoko: (to herself) That demon remark was aimed at ME! I wonder what role that android version of Tenchi will have? Ryoko found out, soon enough, as Tenchi2 squealed about the SM Queen. Tenchi2: Hieee! SM no Oujosama da! Sasami: Wai! Joou-sama! Kakko ii! Ryoko: (to herself) Why does Sasami think being an SM Queen is cool? And...that's EXACTLY what Evil Kiyone called SM Queen Ayeka...SM Joou-sama! Oh, boy! I'm starting to see why revealing this to Tenchi might be a bad idea, after all. Tenchi2: Sasami-chan! Nantoka shite yo! As Tenchi2 hesitated, Ayeka told him about the Jurai bridegroom training. Ayeka: O-machi nasai! Yurishimasen koto yo! (caresses Tenchi2) Jurai ouke hiden no hanamuko kyoukiu desu. Watakushi no hanamuko ni naritakerba kono muchi o! Judging by the way things looked, Tenchi2 was a bit hesitant about the training. He was then tied up by, of all people, Sasami. Tenchi2: Naritaku nai yo tasukette! Ayeka: Nani o namaiki kira! Yoroshii omoishirasete agemasu. Sasami! Sasami: Hai, Joou-Sama! Ayeka: Tetsudai nasai! Nogashite wa narimasen yo! Tenchi2: (is tied up by Sasami) Nani itten da yo? Yameta kure yo...EE!! Ayeka: Saa, tappuri batsu o ataete agemasu wa. Tanoshimi desu koto! Soko ni onaorinasai! Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho!! As Ayeka continued the song, she did various torture tactics on Tenchi2, as she finished her song. Ryoko: (thinks to herself) Oh man...now I know why Ayeka wants to keep this a secret. The risk of losing her as my rival for Tenchi's affection is too high! It's not worth it! (looks down, and a lightbulb appears, as she thinks) I GOT IT!! Ayeka: Hora hora ikemasen, (whips Tenchi2 on the back) Kono itami ni tae nasai, hito muchi goto sakebi nasai, hizamazuite yurushi koinasai! (pours hot candlewax down Tenchi2's back) Tenchi2: YEOWTCH! Why me?? Ayeka: (looks at Tenchi2 indignantly) Because, this way, I can perform the bridegroom training without having the REAL TENCHI experience it! Now, shut up and let me finish the song! (places some stone slabs on Tenchi2's lap) Tenchi2: Oh. Alright...sorry. Ayeka: Mada mada narimasen, oujosama to oyobinasai, sugaritsuite o nakinasai, omoi no mama (yells out, as she whips Tenchi2, while he hangs upside-down) IZIMETE AGEMASU! Hora hora ikamasen, saa itami ni tae nasai, sugaritsuite o nakinasai, (yells out) HIZAMAZUITE...YURUSHI O KOINASAI!! (laughs wildly again) Yugi: Ayeka's right. That song just might be a bad idea. Sakuya: We gotta do something. Kiyone: I know. Mihoshi: Come on, let's give Ayeka the time to finish her song, alright? Girls of Tenchi Family: Alright. Nagi: Whatever. As the girls of the Tenchi Family realized Ayeka needed help, in a big way, the princess, and self-dubbed SM Queen finished her song. (Of course, Ayeka's counterpart was the one who dubbed her the SM Queen.) By now, Ryoko understood why Ayeka didn't want to show Tenchi the outfit she had, or perform the bridegroom training prematurely. Ayeka: Oujosama to oyobi! Oujosama to oyobi...KONO!! Kono itami ni taeru no yo! Taete, Taete, ureshinaki O SHINASAI! (laughs like a madwoman, until the music ends, then looks down in the dumps) Mihoshi: You were right, Ayeka. That song would make you lose Tenchi. Ayeka: (looks down) Yes. Though I'd win the Karaoke Duel, for certain, this will also make Tenchi fear me...I can't afford to do that. (drops the whip, huddles herself in a corner and cries) WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?! Achika then stepped forward, and comforted Ayeka. Achika: It's alright, Ayeka. You don't have to sing that song, if it isn't your desire to do so. If you truly want to do a song which doesn't require you to do the Juraian bridegroom training ritual, then do so. You're millions of light years away from Jurai. You're not under your father's watchful eye. Ayeka: (looks up at Achika) You're right. Father isn't here. I don't have to sing "Call me Princess," after all. (looks at Washuu) Washuu, according to the statistics, what are my chances of winning Tenchi's heart with "Oujosama to Oyobi?" Washuu: From the looks of things, I'd say 50/50. You'll either win his heart, or chase him away with that song. Ayeka: I was afraid of that. What am I going to do? Ryoko, who is Ayeka's true friend, made a suggestion which would help Ayeka save face in the duel. Ryoko: (puts her hand on Ayeka's shoulder) Why don't we sing our song, instead? Ayeka: You mean...Up-walk In the Galaxy? Ryoko: Yep. True, we might get low marks for arguing, but hey...you have a good chance to score a bit higher than me, this way. Ayeka: You'd really do that for me? You'll allow me to score slightly higher than you? Ryoko: Yeah. Now, I realize I was wrong to tease you about that outfit. From what you've shown us, Juraian bridegroom training is a tough burden for both bride AND groom to bear. Sasami: It's a tough burden on me, too. Yugi: I know. Those who do endure the test have proven themselves worthy of being with the woman they love. I'm glad Empress Hinosei exiled me. Because of that, I didn't have to learn about the bridegroom training. Ryoko: I understand. (looks at Ayeka) Well, what do you say? I hate to see you as an emotional wreck. Shall we sing our song, for all we're worth? Ayeka: (smiles, shakes Ryoko's hand, and stops crying) Yes. Let's do it. Thank you, Ryoko. Ryoko: No problem. An hour later, everything was set up for the Karaoke Duel. The Karaoke machine was primed and ready. The guardians, Azaka and Kamadake were being used as stereo units. Kamadake: So, what exactly are we doing? Azaka: Exactly what you think we're doing. We're the stereo units for this machine. Kamadake: I see. Tenchi came in, and was dressed in his haori jacket. An LED readout screen was next to him. To the left of the screen, was a Pretty Sammy icon, which will indicate high scores, and to the right, was a Pixy Misa Icon, to indicate a low score. In the middle was the numbers display. Noboyuki and Katzuhito were the audience, and Tenchi was the judge and announcer. Tenchi: Greetings, everyone. Welcome to the latest Tenchi Family Karaoke Duel and Sing-Off. Here, we'll watch as our lovely contestants battle it out for different prizes. Tenchi read off the prizes, and gulped at the first challenge. Tenchi: The first half is a challenge between Ryoko, Ayeka and Sakuya Kumashiro! The lady who scores the most points gets...(gulps) A date with me! Then, there's the Best of Show Award. Finally, there's the Outsinging Award...winner gets 2500 yen. Now, let's introduce the first three contestants! First off, she's a princess from Jurai, who's modest, yet powerful. Don't underestimate her in combat, if you know what I mean. She's Ayeka, First Princess of JURAI!! Azaka and Kamadake provided the sound of a cheering crowd, as Ayeka stepped out into the open. She was dressed in her blue and purple kimono, with some slight differences. First, she had a furry pink boa around her shoulders. She wore a black leather captain's hat, with a skull on the area where a badge would be. She held a fan in her hands, and had a golden star painted on her left cheek. Of course, Ryoko's double appeared, and was dressed in some shorts, a tank top, and a hat. She booed Ayeka. Tenchi ignored it, and introduced Ryoko, anyway. Ayeka: Thank you. I'd just like to say how honored I am to participate in such an enjoyable entertainment venture. I'll do my best not to disappoint. Ryoko 2: Go home! BOO!! BOO!! Tenchi: Thank you, Ayeka. Next up, she's powerful, she's pretty, and she's a force to be reckoned with. This woman held her own against Kagato, with the help of everyone here. She's the infamous space pirate, RYOKO!! Ryoko was in a flashy outfit which had leather pants with a bunny on it, a purple jacket, a blue shirt and some cat ears. She had a fan in her hand. The outfit was so flashy, it was as bright as the sun. Ryoko: Thank you, everyone. I hope I can stand up to your expectations, and give you a way cool performance. I LOOOVE Karaoke, drinking, bathing and, most importantly, I LOOOVE TENCHI! All of the girls just fell down when she said that. After a moment of dead silence, Tenchi introduced Sakuya. Tenchi: (looks around, and sees that the girls fell over, for a moment...even his mom) Well, Okay...now, we introduce to you, in her debut performance, a former high-school stundent from Tokyo, who has recently discovered her true past, and has become a knight of Jurai. Please welcome...SAKUYA KUMASHIRO!! Sakuya stepped out in this beautiful party dress. It was green, and was perfect for singing, too. Once again, Ryoko's double booed the competition. Sakuya wondered why she was being booed, when Tenchi explained it to her. Sakuya: Well, I'd like to thank everyone who made this possible. First off, I'd like to thank my sister, Yugi. Second, I'd like to thank my father. Though he sleeps, he is always in my thoughts. Finally, I'd like to thank everyone in the Masaki household, for accepting me and my sister as members of their extended family. Ryoko 2: (reappears) Go home...boo! Boo! BBBOOOOOO!! Sakuya: Uhhh...Tenchi...why is Ryoko's other half booing me? Tenchi: Well...don't take any offense to it. She does that in EVERY Karaoke Duel. It's nothing personal. Sakuya: Thanks. Now, it was time to introduce the enteratainment section. Tenchi started with Kiyone and Mihoshi. Tenchi: Alright, now...here comes those who want to entertain us for the purpose of having fun. First off, they're a dynamic force in the Galaxy Police. One's got the brains, one's got the luck...both have a decdication to their cause. Let's say hello to Kiyone and Mihoshi! Mihoshi and Kiyone were in some pretty cool dresses. Blue outfits which had miniskirts attached to them. They were so excited about the entertainment exhibition. Kiyone: Thank you. We're so excited about this exhibition. We'll sing so well, we'll rock your world. Mihoshi: Yeah! Our singing will knock your socks off! So be prepared! Tenchi: I know you will. (looks at the card with all the contestants, in order of appearance) Next, we have a young girl who's an expert cook! She and RyoOhki are good friends, and she's also friends with EVERYONE! Please give us a big welcome for SASAMI! Sasami entered in a pink Oriental dress with green sleeves. She had a miniskirt, and yellow socks with black shoes. She was dressed JUST LIKE the Pretty Sammy icon. Instead of the usual balls holding her hair in twin ponytails, there were flowers, one holding each ponytail. Sasami: Thank you, everyone. I promise to do my best, and make sure this whole thing is worthwhile. I'm gonna make a performance so cool, it'll be sensational! In fact...it's magical! (winks) As the crowd (represented by Azaka and Kamadake) cheered on, Washuu's turn was up next. She came in wearing a white shirt, a red vest and a green skirt. She wore black shoes, and looked very impressive. Tenchi: And now, we bring to you, the GREATEST scientific mind IN THE UNIVERSE! She's SUPER SMART, and she can invent ANYTHING to get us out of a jam. Say hello to LITTLE WASHUU!! Azaka and Kamadake: (make the sounds of an audience cheering) Washuu: Thank you. I'm so warmed by the reception I've been given. I'm moved to the point of tears, almost. If you thought my science was something, wait until you HEAR ME SING!! After Washuu was introduced, it was Yugi's turn. She was in a torquoise party dress. She wore white gloves and high-heeled shoes. Her hair was in a Oriental-style bun, and she had a pearl necklace on. Tenchi: Thank you, Washuu! And now, at her first appearance, she's the daughter of a legendary knight of Jurai, who after 3500 years, has finally followed in her father's footsteps, and has become a knight, alongside her sister. Let's give a warm welcome to YUGI!! Yugi: (walks up) Well, I'd like to thank the Masaki family for accepting me, and I'd like to thank Empress Hinosei for sending me here, and for saving Tenchi's life. Let's hear it for the Empress! After Azaka and Kamadake provided the crowd noises once again, Tenchi started to stutter as he saw how beautiful his mother looked in a different white kimono with a green yukata underneath it. It was ornate, and very highly detailed. Tenchi: And now...(sees his mother) w...w...well...I don't know wh...what to say. She's my mother...and she's very gentle...and...is...v...v...very beautiful. Let's say hello to my mother, Achika Masaki. Achika: Thank you, Tenchi. (giggles a bit) You're so kind. I want to thank everyone for a wonderful week. Because of Washuu, and others, I was able to spend a week with my family. And I'm glad to finally meet Tenchi's friends. My time is almost up, now...and I'm glad I spent it with those I love. I don't know who Tenchi's wife will be, one day, but I know that Ayeka, Ryoko and Sakuya are good choices. Also, I'd like to make this, my last moments on Earth worthwhile, by giving a performance nobody will ever forget. The song I will sing is dedicated to Noboyuki, my father and my son along with his friends. Thank you. Achika got the biggest ovation of all. Then, Nagi came in, and was in her usual outfit. Once again, Ryoko's double booed her competition, only to be poked by Nagi's sword. Tenchi: And now, finally, we have the Out-singing competition. 2500 yen is on the line, here. This is a rough and tough bounty hunter from the far corners of the galaxy. She and Ryoko are bitter rivals, and she'll do anything to beat Ryoko, even if it means singing a song to do it. Please welcome NAGI!! Ryoko 2: Will ya go home, already?! Boo! BOOO!! B...(is poked in the ribs by Nagi's sword) What the?! Nagi: (raises an eyebrow) Cut it out, ok? Save it for when I beat you, alright? Ryoko 2: Yeah, right! I'll out-sing you for CERTAIN! I'll...put myself back together, now. (reunites with Ryoko) Nagi: (smirks) Hmph. We'll see about that, Ryoko. Then, it was time for the girls to draw numbers. Ryoko got a 1, Ayeka got a 2, Mihoshi got a 3, and Kiyone got a 4. Sasami got a 5, while Washuu got a 6. Achika got a 7, Yugi got an 8, Sakuya got a 9, and Nagi drew out a 10. Everyone had an option of single songs or duets. Ryoko and Ayeka were first. Tenchi: Alright, Ryoko is up first. What option do you choose...singles or duets? Ryoko: I'm gonna do a duet with Ayeka. Tenchi: Alrightie, then. What song will you be singing? Ayeka: We're going to sing..."Up-Walk in the Galaxy." Tenchi KNEW how the outcome would be for this. Fortunately, he doesn't know how lucky he REALLY is. Tenchi: Alright, then. Go for it! (has a sweatdrop on his head) Oh brother, here we go again... Sakuya: What's going on, Tenchi? Tenchi: A couple minutes after the song begins, Ryoko and Ayeka are going to fight...AGAIN. Watch. As Tenchi told Sakuya what to expect, the music was cued, and Ryoko began her half of the song. Ryoko: When you go fishing, you catch a boot...or some other trash, when you play your cards, you lose ALL YOUR CASH...you're so pathetic, you'd never win...and you never will...Not the kind of girl, who'd make any guy FEEL A THRILL! I'm sorry, you'll never be a goddess, like me, step aside, this is how it's GOT TO BEEEEE! I'll get the guy, yes I'm the one who will always win the day, I'm strong, and I am beautiful, what more can I say? I'll get the guy, he'll hold me close till the VERY END of TIME...when you lose, how you will moan and cry, cause the guy WILL BE MIIIINNNEEE!! Sakuya: Well now, Ryoko's not doing bad, so far. Tenchi: Now, it's Ayeka's turn. It isn't too long before they argue. Sakuya: Okay. After the instrumental break, Ayeka began her half of the song. Ayeka: While you've been 'braggin, I had to laugh at your silly boast...clearly I'm the one that HE LOVES THE MOST...because I'm gentle, and I'm refined, like you'll never be...I have won his heart, it's the prize you won't STEAL FROM MEEEEE...Forget it, your words won't mean a thing, in the end...he'll be glad...NOT TO SEE YOUR FACE AGAAAAIIINNN!! I'll get the guy, each time I try, in a sweet and quiet way, I'm a queen, and you're a hopeless fool, that's all I can say, I'll get the guy, there's so much love he and I were meant to find...you can stay with all the other girls, cause the guy WILL BE MIIINNNEEE!! Tenchi counted down, as the argument began. Tenchi: 3...2...1... Ryoko & Ayeka: I'll get the guy, yes I'm the one...(both realize they're singing the same line) Ryoko: Hey! Ayeka: What do you mean? Ryoko: What are you talking about? Ayeka: You're so lame! Ryoko: Oh, so are you! Ayeka: You think you can get a guy with a face like that? Ryoko: HEY!! Ayeka: I hope you rot in that giant wad of greasy guk, and have pus OOZE out of EVERY PORE! Ryoko: (smirks) You know, you're no beauty contestant. Ayeka: WHAT?! Ryoko: Someday, you're gonna dry up like a prune...and lie in some dark corner in the middle of the sewer! Ayeka: Wait until I get my hands on you! If I could just tear you from limb from limb, I WOULD!! Ryoko: Oh, sure! Just try it! TRY IT!! Ayeka: (laughs insanely until the music ends) At last, their song ended. Ryoko's score was 27, and Ayeka's score was 28. Ryoko seemed to be angry about it...but Sakuya knew better. Ryoko: Well, how was that? Tenchi: Well, your score's coming up. It's...27. (Pixy Misa cheers onscreen) Ryoko: Grrrr...THAT THING IS RIGGED! Tenchi: Calm down, Ryoko! Let's see what score Ayeka got, ok? Ryoko: (looks down) Okay. Tenchi: (sees a 28 appear, and Pixy Misa cheers, while Pretty Sammy weeps) Ayeka gets a 28. Sakuya: How awful. (How awfully relieved I am to see that Ryoko's not going to tell everyone about Juraian bridegroom training. Whew.) Ryoko: HEY! I've been robbed! That high score should've been MINE!! (points at Ayeka, and winks) Ayeka: Too bad, Miss Sour Note of Okiyama, Japan. Better luck next time! Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho!! Ryoko: AYEKA!!! Tenchi: (has both girls move aside) Well, they get an "A" for effort, that's for sure. Let's hear it for Ryoko AND AYEKA..who gained a 55 IN THEIR MUSICAL NUMBER! Azaka and Kamadake: (provide cheering sounds) As Ryoko and Ayeka left the stage, the princess thanked her friend for the assist. Ayeka: (whispers) Thanks for helping me, Ryoko. You got me out of a real jam. Ryoko: (whispers) No problem, Ayeka. When I saw you do that number, I knew I couldn't let you go through it. Our rivalry is one of the things that gives me strength in a battle. I can't lose you, as my rival for Tenchi's love. He hasn't decided between me, or you yet. Ayeka: (whispers) Yes. Sakuya, of course, has shown us, through example that we have a lot to learn about kindness, and understanding. Maybe she IS the one for Tenchi. Ryoko & Ayeka: (both look at Sakuya, then Tenchi) Nah. Tenchi: Well, next up, it's Kiyone and Mihoshi, who are going to sing, Sleeping Beauty On the Balcony! Kiyone: Thank you. Now, let's hit it, Mihoshi! Mihoshi: ALRIGHT! LET'S GO! And so, Mihoshi began to sing Sleeping Beauty On the Balcony, with Kiyone providing backup. Mihoshi: I float and sway, as I sail in this slumberland carressed in the sun...forget the things to do and sit on the balconnnyyy...It's nice and warm, it's alright, the cat beside me is dozing off...Oh, Prince, don't you kiss me, oh no, not yet...oh, yeaaahhh... MihoKiyo: (Mihoshi and Kiyone) I float, I sway in my sleep, over the slumberland you know, the happiness lies...you see, you should never disturb the happy princess in slumber ON THE BALCONY... Mihoshi: (waits until intrumental break) I float and sway, as I doze off, carressed in the sun, so gentle and mild...forget all your worries, and sleep on the balconnnnyy... MihoKiyo: It's nice and warm, it's alright, the cat beside me is fast asleep... Mihoshi: I'm now the happiest princess lost in the Wonderland, oh yeah... MihoKiyo: I float and sway in my dream, happy is the world of slumber, yeah...you see, you should never disturb, cause I'm a princess in slumber, on the balcony...I float, and sway, as I go, the road of happy slumber, yeah...all I want is to keep dreaming on, cause I'm a princess in slumber ON THE BALCONY. (song ends) Soon, Mihoshi and Kiyone's combined score had been tallied. They got a 72. Kiyone: (sees Pretty Sammy cheer, while Pixy Misa weeps) YEAH! Alright, partner! WE DID IT! (slaps Mihoshi on the back) Mihoshi: Ooph. I knew we could, Kiyone! Tenchi: Alright, everybody. It's time for Sasami to sing Pretty Sammy, the Magical Girl! Let's hear it for her! As the crowd cheered, Sasami began to sing. Sasami: Don't you ever worry, don't you be too weary, I am always here for you...the future's filled with wonder, mystery all over, in a miracle you have faith. If you keep on dreaming, it sure will come true...the magic spell you chant will solve, and make...all of the problems right...Thirsty may you be sometime, say the magic word and you will have a drink...hungry may you be sometimes, say the magic word, and you'll get EVERYTHING YOU NEED! During the first and second instrumental breaks, Kiyone's imagination went wild. She imagined Sasami as Tenchi's girl, Evil Kiyone capturing Tenchi, and boarding a pedal-powered vessel which Dr. Wily, a villain from the Mega Man games Mihoshi has would use to fight against Mega Man. Then, she imagines Sasami turning into Pretty Sammy, fighting against Evil Kiyone with a a stick and three blocks which become a humungous lightsaber thingy which destroys the craft, and sends everyone flying, including Tenchi, Evil Kiyone Henchman 1, and Henchman Amagasaki. Mihoshi got Kiyone out of la-la land. Sasami: The boy you love and care for, in your secret fancy, may happen to be leaving you, the wonder magic power, the last remaining power, the magic power's on your side. Just watch, and you'll see...the love you have longed...the magic spell you cast will bring...the for-tunes always back to you! Make a blunder, and be late, the magic word can bring you back a happy smile, all the tiresome work you've got, you can just leave it, you can just leave it ALL TO ME! (waits for the end of her instrumental break) Thirsty may you be sometime, say the magic word and you shall have a drink...hungry may you be, sometimes, say the magic word, and you'll get EVERYTHING YOU NEED! (song ends) Washuu: WHOA! Sasami! You got a 75! Sasami: I knew I'd do well! Mihoshi: Kiyone, wake up! (shakes Kiyone a bit) Kiyone: Whhhaa....(snaps out of it) Mihoshi, what's going on? What did I miss? Mihoshi: Not much...just Sasami getting a 75 for her song. What were you doing, anyway? Kiyone: Trust me. You DON'T want to know about what's going on in my head. It's scary. Mihoshi: Roger that. Now, it was Washuu's turn. She decided to sing a song which her mother had always sang for her when she was young. Tenchi: Thank you, Sasami, for giving us a magical performance. And now, it's Washuu's turn. Washuu: (walks onstage) Thank you, everyone. I'd like to sing a lullaby which my mother sang to me, when I was a little girl. I dedicate this song to my mother, and to Lady Achika, who has brought hope to us all. Achika: (cries a bit) Thank you, Washuu. And as Achika shed a few tears about Washuu's dedication, the genius began to sing her song. Washuu: April roses, tiny sparrows, cornets bright and new...all belong together with the mystery that is you...when I see you little face, I hear a song, from long ago, I think you know...the many secrets I've FORGOTTEN....generations through the ages, joined as one, somehow...leading to the miracle that I am holding now, from the sky, and from the sea, upon a breeze, you came to me, you seem to see...a greater universe THAN I DO...Sleep my baby, sleep MY BABY, dream of somewhere far away, do you remember, still... how I hope you always will...keep the memory of the day THE WORLD WAS BORN! When you wake up, I'll be waiting, eager for your smile...you've had quite a journey, darling, you should rest awhile...and when you cry, we still rejoice, to hear your voice, oh yes it's true, my sweet Washuu, please understand how much WE LOVE YOU....sleep my baby, sleep MY BABY, later on, perhaps you'll tell, the wonderous things you've seen, more miraculous than dreams, tell me all about the day THE WORLD WAS BORN! (awaits the end of the instrumental) Sleep my baby, sleep MY BABY, dream of somewhere far away, do you remember still, how I hope you always will...keep the memory of the day THE WORLD WAS BORN! (song draws to a close) As everyone cheered, Kiyone realized that the lullaby had a successful effect on Mihoshi. It made her fall asleep. Despite all this, Washuu got a 77. Kiyone: (looks at Mihoshi, then at the screen, where Pretty Sammy wins another high score) You did great, Washuu. If your mother's lullaby can put Mihoshi to sleep, it deserves a 77. I hereby declare Mihoshi the sleeping beauty on the balcony. (smiles) Washuu: Thanks for the ovation, Kiyone. I'm proud of my performance. As the first half of this big competition comes to a close, Achika prepares to sing her song. Check out the finale of this chapter, where the winners of the duel will be declared. Until then.
