Subject: Shin Tenchi Muyo: Kagato's Attack! by Jason Boaz Chapter 1: Kagato Arrives, Yugi Awakens. Several months have passed, since Tenchi and his friends completed their adventures in Tokyo. It was a beautiful Spring day, where everyone was working on different chores and endeavors...well, almost everyone. Ayeka was sweeping the floors, Mihoshi did the laundry, Sasami was preparing breakfast, Kiyone was running the vacuum, and Washuu was hard at work, in her lab. Even Tenchi was doing his share of work in the fields, getting vegetables for everyone, RyoOhki included. The only one who wasn't working was Ryoko, who was still asleep. Kiyone: Where's Ryoko? Isn't it her turn to clean the toilet? Ayeka: She probably hasn't even woke up yet...the lazy bum! Mihoshi: This is a nice day. It's so beautiful. Ayeka: Yes, it is, Mihoshi. It's a day where nothing bad can happen. Little did Ayeka know, something bad was about to happen. For deep in the sky, a mysterious spaceship was moving from a stationary standpoint, where the owner of the ship had witnessed the events that unfolded during the time Yugi, and her shadow, Sakuya Kumashiro were out and about. Inside the ship, a man in shadows was gloating about how he would finally get the 7 gems that Tenchi and the girls possessed. This very man was finally ready to emerge from the shadows, and take what he wanted from the Tenchi Family. Man: It won't be long now, Yosho...soon, I will have all the gems in my possession...and then, the power of Tenchiken, the most powerful sword in the universe, will belong to me. (smirks) Souja....set a course for Earth! Destination...Okiyama. And so, the ominous spaceship, known as the Souja headed for Earth. An hour later, it was breakfast time. Everyone, including Ryoko, who just woke up, were happily eating. Sasami was worried about Yugi, though. Sasami: When's Yugi going to wake up, Tenchi? Tenchi: I guess she'll wake up when she feels she's become a better person, Sasami. Ayeka: Tenchi's right, Sasami. As you know, Yugi was overwhelmed with her powers, and didn't know how to use them properly. (eats) I hope she's going to be okay. This got Ryoko mad. She had always felt that Sakuya, who was the manifestation of Yugi's Shadow, was a boyfriend-stealer. Ryoko: Are you kidding, Ayeka?! She and that brazen little hussy, Sakuya, are one and the same! She tried to tear our household apart!! Are you saying you'd welcome her into our household?! Ayeka: I felt the same way as you did, in the beginning, Ryoko. But, I'm sure that when she awakens, she'll be a better person than she once was. I feel that Yugi's challenge was a test to see if we, as friends and family, can endure. And we passed, with flying colors. Kiyone: I agree, Ayeka. We've all gotten stronger, because of the ordeals Yugi put us through. Once Yugi wakes, she'll probably be welcomed to our home. Ryoko: Yeah, I suppose you're right, Kiyone. (I'm just glad Nagi isn't around right now...she'd cause us major trouble. I STILL can't forget how she captured Tenchi just to get at me.) Mihoshi: You look troubled, Ryoko. Is something bothering you? Kiyone: Yeah, Ryoko. What's wrong? Are you worried about something? Ryoko: Nope, nothing's wrong, You two worry too much. I'm doing just fine...OKAY?! Kiyone: (a bit surprised) Okay, Ryoko. No need to get all worked up like that. Ryoko: Yeah. I guess you're right again, Kiyone. I mean, what can possibly go wrong, today? Ryoko was about to find out that plenty could go wrong this day. For at that moment, Nagi, Ryoko's arch-rival, was onboard KenOhki, who was in his spaceship mode. She was in pursuit of a dangerous criminal from Jurai, who had gained an infamous reputation as a destroyer of ancient relics, and as a perpetually wanted criminal. Like the true professional bounty hunter she was, Nagi was going after Kagato for the reward. But...there was also a hint of concern for Ryoko on her face. Nagi: So...the Perpetually Wanted Criminal, Kagato is headed for Earth. And, judging from the direction he's headed, I'd say he was going to Okiyama...the place where Ryoko now lives. KenOhki: Reooowwwrrr!!! Nagi: My sentiments exactly, KenOhki. We mustn't allow Ryoko to get hurt, or killed by Kagato! I won't allow anyone else to get her! I'm the only one who has the right to take her in. SET A COURSE FOR EARTH!! KenOhki: MEEEOOOWW!!! And, as Nagi and KenOhki headed for Earth, that moment, in the Masaki Shrine, Katzuhito, Tenchi's grandfather, sensed an ominous presence heading towards the Masaki Household...a presence he is all to familiar with. Katzuhito: Hmmm...I since an evil presence heading this way...it feels like Juraian power...that has been twisted by ambition and greed. This can mean only one thing...Kagato has returned. I must awaken Yugi at once! (runs to the cave) We'll need all the help we can get!! I can sense that the time is right for her to awaken. Without delay, Katzuhito went into the cave where Yugi was sleeping. He knew the time had come to awaken her. He also knew the day had finally come when he'd have to tell Tenchi his true origin. Katzuhito: It seems that the time has come for me to tell Tenchi the truth about myself. I knew this day would come, sooner or later. But first, I have to shut off the manual override, so Yugi can wake up. Katzuhito pulled the main lever which kept the machine that was made for Yugi to sleep in running manually. Once he turned that off, he hoped the machine would turn off by itself, once Yugi felt it was time for her to awaken. Katzuhito: There. I've done all that was humanly possible. You have to wake up, Yugi. Your friends are in danger. Everyone, especially Tenchi and Sasami will be destroyed unless you wake up and help us. Please...you must awaken. Somehow, Yugi heard Yosho. She started to stir inside the machine...as she stirred, the machine's operations were switching off, one after another. Soon enough, Yugi woke up. The machine's mechanisms have come to a complete stop. It was time for Yugi to fighting alongside Tenchi and Sasami as their friend. By now, her physical age was the same as the age of her other self, Sakuya. She felt a warmth in her heart that she had never felt before...and she liked what she felt. Yugi: Huh? What happened? I feel so different...I feel as if a warmth has enveloped me. The same kind of warmth my counterpart, Sakuya holds deep in her heart. That means...It's finally time for me to show the world the type of girl I was meant to be. No more of me being a bad girl. No, siree. (My father did say it was time for me to awaken. He sensed the time was right. I wonder, who else knew about this?) Katzuhito: I'm proud of you, Yugi. You've grown into the good person you were meant to be. Yugi turned around and saw Katzuhito. She wondered about what was happening, and why she felt Juraian Power within him. Yugi: Lord Katzuhito? What's going on? I can sense that you have the Power of Jurai within you...why? Who are you...really? Katzuhito revealed who he truly was to Yugi first. Katzuhito: Though I was born several millenia after you were imprisoned, I am one who had earned his place in the legends of our home planet. I am the Legendary Warrior, known as Yosho. Yugi: I...don't believe it...I've heard of you, even after I was banished by the old Empress of Jurai. Because of the depth of my power, I was still in touch with our homeland. I never thought I'd meet you, face to face, Yosho. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir. Katzuhito, or rather Yosho smiled at her, and told her that the pleasure was all his. He then asked Yugi if she can identify the source of Juraian Power which has been corrupted and twisted into darkness...a darkness that was greater than the darkness that was once inside Yugi's heart. Yosho: The pleasure, Yugi is all mine. Now, we must hurry. I'm sure you're able to identify the source of Juraian Power that is almost here. Do you know who it is? Yugi: Yes...it can only be one person...one who is darker than I was....Kagato. (So...Kagato's prediction has come to pass. No big deal. I can take him on...with a little help from my friends, of course.) Yosho: You're absolutely right, Yugi. My arch rival, and former friend has come for Sword Tenchi. Yugi: Sword...Tenchi? Are you saying that the sword Tenchi used in the final battle we fought was your sword...Tenchiken...that the 7 gems are all part of that legendary blade...and that Tenchi was named after the sword? Yosho: That is correct. Now, you must go and help fend off Kagato. I will arrive shortly. I have to finish things here. Yugi: Alright...what are you going to do, Yosho? Yosho: I am going to follow Washuu's instructions on the machine. She said that once you had become a better person, the machine will have fulfilled its purpose, and must be destroyed by activating the disintegration sequence. Once that is done, the machine will become nothing but dust. Yugi: I understand. Alright, I'll go, Yosho. Feel free to join in, once you're done. Yosho: Thanks. I will. As Yugi rushed off to help her friends, Kagato had already set foot on Okiyama. Ryoko, Ayeka, Sasami and RyoOhki could sense Kagato's dark power. Ryoko: (spits out her drink in shock) This isn't good....I can sense a powerful force...a dark, and powerful force. Ayeka: I feel it, too, Ryoko. It feels like Jurai power, but it's a tainted, dark power. Sasami: This power...it feels as if it's greater than Yugi's...(runs to Ayeka's side, trembling) I'm scared, Ayeka. RyoOhki: Reow! Reoowwrr!! Tenchi: I guess we'd better check it out... Kiyone: I wonder who it could be? Mihoshi: Maybe it's a vicious criminal heading our way. Kiyone: I hope you're wrong, Mihoshi. Unfortunately, for Tenchi and the others, Mihoshi was right on target. As he and the others contemplated what was going to happen, the evil Kagato was now one yard away from the front door. Will Yugi make it in time? Can Yosho finish with Washuu's machine, so he can lend a hand? And, what is to become of Ryoko? Will Nagi be able to protect her? All these questions, and more will be answered...soon. To Be Continued...
