Chapter 2: Hour of Darkness! Kagato Strikes!!

Meanwhile, back in the Masaki household, Mihoshi and Kiyone get an ultra-high space emergency bulletin on their all-purpose GP Watches.

Kiyone: (looks at her flashing GP Watch) Oh no....looks like we’ve got an ultra-high space emergency bulletin, Mihoshi...it’s code red! This is serious.

Mihoshi: We’d better see what it is...maybe it’s the sadistic, evil Wargones.

Kiyone: (sour face) Check the watch for details before making assumptions, ok airhead? It could be someone far worse than those fictitious bad guys.

Mihoshi: Guess you’re right...sorry. (hand on back of head, giggles) When both Galaxy Police Officers looks at their GP Watches, they were both in shock. Kiyone had a grim look on her face. Tenchi wondered what was going on.

Mihoshi: What the?! This isn’t good!!

Kiyone: (looks grim) I never thought he’d come all the way to the Earth!

Tenchi: Uuhhh...what’s wrong, Kiyone?

Kiyone: This is really bad, Tenchi. Really, REALLY bad.

Mihoshi: Kiyone was right....this one’s a real one...the infamous, brutal criminal...Kagato!!

Tenchi: Who?

Kiyone: He’s the Eternally Most Wanted Criminal known as Kagato. He’s wanted for the destruction and robbery of countless relics, the wiping out of entire space fleets, and he was banished for attempting a coup-de-tat in the planet Jurai. He is considered armed and extremely dangerous!!

Ayeka: I’ve heard of him! Kagato was once a noble of Jurai’s Royal Family until several decades ago, when he was banished from Jurai for attempting to overthrow the Royal Family. He betrayed his friend, Yosho, who is the greatest swordsman in all of Jurai. He even tried to conquer him in battle...but Kagato lost, and Yosho won. The battle that Yosho had fought against Kagato earned him the reputation of the Legendary Warrior. But...after everything was said and done...he left Jurai for whereabouts unknown...and hasn’t been heard from since. After he was banished, Kagato turned to a life of crime.

Ryoko: He’s a space pirate that’s much worse than I am! With his ship, the Souja, he has been able to terrorize the entire universe!!

It was at this point when Kagato, who was one yard away from the front door, decided to move two more yards away....so there’d be more room to fight.

Kagato: Hmmm...by now, the two Galaxy Police Detectives have surely got a warning about me from Galaxy Police Headquarters. I’d better move a bit, so we’ll have more room to fight. (moves two yards away)

Just then, at that moment, Tenchi asked Kiyone where the villainous Kagato was currently located.

Tenchi: YIPE! This is very bad! Where is he?! What does he want? Do you have any idea why he’s here, Kiyone?

Kiyone: I don’t know what he wants on the Earth, but according to the locator he’s...THREE YARDS AWAY from OUR FRONT DOOR!!

Sasami: He must’ve come for the gems we have...the gems that symbolize our family bond!!

Washuu: I’m afraid you might be right, Sasami! We’d better give Tenchi our gems right away. He’ll need the sword to fight him!

As if in response, all seven gems glowed brightly, to warn the “Tenchi Family” of a great threat. Ryoko was first to give Tenchi her gem.

Ryoko: You’re right Washuu! According to the way the gems are glowing, we’re in big trouble, unless we give Tenchi our gems, NOW! I don’t know about any of you, but I’m in! (gives Tenchi her gem)

After Ryoko gives her gem to Tenchi, Ayeka was second to do so. It didn’t take long for the others to give Tenchi their gems, as well.

Ayeka: For once we agree, Ryoko. We have to stop Kagato, at all costs! We have to make sure that light will always prevail!! (gives her gem toTenchi, as well)

Washuu: Right! We have to protect everyone from this fiend!! (gives Tenchi her gem, also)

Sasami: Yeah! Let’s beat that meanie!! (hands Tenchi her gem)

Kiyone: The safety of the universe is our goal! It’s our duty as Galaxy Police Officers to stop that criminal in any way necessary!! Right,Mihoshi? (throws Tenchi her gem)

Mihoshi: Right, Kiyone! I am a Galaxy Police Officer! Fighting to the death is what I do, it’s what I am!! (hands her gem over to Tenchi)

When Mihoshi gave Tenchi the last gem, Tenchi got his gem out, as well...and, in a burst of light, the 7 gems became the sword which Tenchi used against Ryoko’s demonic form, and the formerly evil Yugi.

Tenchi: (gets out his gem) Alright! We have to protect our world, and our home! (the gems combine into the sword) Let’s get him!!

And so, Tenchi and the others got ready to fight the evil Kagato. Ryoko materialized a red-and-black battle suit with but a thought. A black streak ran across the right side of her face, covering her ear, and ended on her eyebrow. Ayeka did a similar action, and caused a dark pink and purple outfit to appear on her. Her face now had two black streaks on both sides of it. (one on each cheek) Kiyone and Mihoshi used their control cubes to get on their best looking Galaxy Police uniforms. Kiyone got out a red headband and put it on. Sasami ran to go to wake Yugi when Washuu stopped her.

Sasami: We’ll probably need all the help we can get! I’m going to wake Yugi up!! (is stopped by Washuu)

Washuu: Hold your horses, Sasami. That won’t be necesary.

Sasami: What are you doing? We have to wake her up!

Washuu: There’s need for that, Sasami. According to this readout, the machine that was made to guard over Yugi while she slept has been turned off, and is disintegrating.

Sasami: What does that mean?

Washuu: (smiles) It can mean only one thing. The machine was designed to operate until Yugi had grown up a bit, and became a better person. If the machine is disintegrating, it means it has fulfilled its purpose, and is no longer needed.

Sasami: You mean she could be...?

Washuu: Uh huh. Yugi’s awake, and is now one of the good guys! We’ll have to stall Kagato until she arrives.

Sasami: (jumps for joy) ALRIGHT!

Washuu: Tenchi, you and the others go on ahead. I have to monitor the battle in case anyone else appears.

Tenchi: Alright. Thank you, Little Washuu.

Washuu: You’re welcome.

Without delay, Tenchi and the others went off to battle, while Washuu went to check for anymore unexpected visitors. Sure enough, as they went outside, Kagato was standing there, and was looking at the situation.

Kagato: So...I see you’ve come to greet me. I’m so glad all of you could come. I hope to give you a warm welcome.

Kiyone and Mihoshi pointed their guns at Kagato and told him he was under arrest.

Kiyone: Kagato...you’re under arrest!!

Mihoshi: You heard my partner! This is a specially protected area! Any combative action is forbidden!

Kiyone: If you involve the civilians in this, we’ll be forced to open fire!!

Kagato just smirked and made a quip about the two First Class Detectives. This provoked both Mihoshi AND Kiyone.

Kagato: (smirks) Oh my, oh my. You two really scare me! (looks a Mihoshi) So, you’re Mihoshi. I’ve heard about your heroic episodes, in the past. Now, I hear you’re overworked, and your performance stinks!

Mihoshi: What did you say?! You won’t get away with that insult, you know!!

Kagato: We’ll see, loser!

Kiyone: (sneers) Nobody talks about my partner like that! I won’t let you get away with it!!

Kagato: Ahhh...you’re Kiyone! They say you’re the best among the younger generation at Galaxy Police Headquarters...now, you’ve decided to patrol this remote station in this sector...the rumor has it that you’re...down on your luck?

This insult got Kiyone really angry. She knew she and Mihoshi had no choice but to fire on their opponent.

Kiyone: That’s it! OPEN FIRE, MIHOSHI!! (fires at Kagato with pinpoint precision)

Mihoshi: RIGHT! (fires at Kagato, with deadly accuracy)

On Kiyone’s word, both of the Galaxy Police Detectives opened fire on Kagato...but, the laser shots were all deflected from his chest.

Kagato: Oh please...don’t you know your lasers won’t harm me? What a foolish action.

Kiyone: Damn! It’s not working!

Kagato: Of course not! You’ll have to do better than that. (laughs evilly)

Kagato laughed at the two officers, as Tenchi approached him from behind. The infamous criminal turned around to face his foe.

Tenchi: Not so fast!!

Kagato: Ah, I see you have the sword. But that’s Yosho’s property...wave it around like that, and you might hurt yourself, young one.

Tenchi was stunned at what Kagato had said.

Tenchi: Yosho? But this sword belonged to my mother....what does she have to do with Yosho?

Kagato: You would fight me without full knowledge of the sword? Very well, then!!

Kagato opened his hand and caused a wind to blow, forcing Tenchi back. the young lad fought against the breeze valiantly.

Tenchi: I won’t let you win!!

Kagato: If you fight me, you’ll only throw your life away. For the sake of your survival, don’t waste your life!

Tenchi was about to give way, when Ryoko got in the way. She lunged to save Tenchi.

Tenchi: (is saved by Ryoko) Ryoko?

Ryoko: Don’t worry, Tenchi. I’ll get him!

Tenchi: But Ryoko?

Kagato was not impressed.

Kagato: Hmph! Nice save! So, you want to fight me? Big mistake!

Kagato closed his fist, and a sword made of green energy appeared. Ryoko did the same and created an energy sword made of orange energy.

Ryoko: We’ll see! Let’s get it on!!

Both Kagato and Ryoko jumped into the sky. Ryoko was the first to attack with a horizontal slash...it was parried by Kagato, who gives Ryoko a diagonal slash, wounding the Space Pirate.

Ryoko: AAHHH!! Take this, you scum!! (slashes at Kagato)

Kagato: (parries the blow) I see being in love with a man had made you soft! A mistake I shall take advantage upon! HYYAHH! (slashes Ryoko,and she bleeds a bit)

Ryoko: Unnggghh!! You’ll pay for this!!

Ryoko then responds with a jumping slash, but is intercepted by 4 beams from Kagato. Those beams went through her shoulder, and hurt her badly.

Ryoko: DIE! YYYYAAAAHHH!!! (jumps at Kagato, trying to slash him)

Kagato: Not today. (blasts Ryoko in the shoulder 4 times)

Ryoko: UUNNGGHHH! I’m sorry, Tenchi. (cries, and falls onto the ground)

Ryoko then fell to the ground, and was defeated by Kagato. Tenchi saw this, and in anger, he lunged at Kagato...who shrugged him off with another breeze from his hand.

Tenchi: You monster!! (lunges at Kagato) AAAAHHH!!!

Kagato: Out of my way, boy!! (blows Tenchi away)

Tenchi: WHHOOOAA!!

Kagato: Well, it’s time to finish you off, Ryoko. You talked a good battle, but you obviously weren’t up to the challenge. Goodbye, Ryoko.

Kagato then attempts to lunge in for the kill, but suddenly, he was slashed in the cheek by a golden sword, similar to one used in fencing. His face bled for a second, as he turned around to see who made that slash.

Kagato: (cheek gets slashed) WHAT?! Who did that?! (turns around)

To everyone’s surprise, the one who slashed Kagato was quickly revealed. It was Ryoko’s arch-rival, the bounty hunter known as Nagi.

Sasami: What?

Tenchi: Huh?!

Kiyone: Can’t be!

Mihoshi: It IS!!

Washuu: (in the lab) It’s her!

Ayeka: Nagi!

Ryoko, who was hurt, looked up, and saw her rival...she was glad to see her, for once.

Ryoko: Oooohhh....Nagi...I’m glad you’re here...Kagato beat me up really bad....I doubt I’ll be able to fight you for awhile.

Nagi: I know, Ryoko. Don’t worry...everything will be alright, now. I won’t let anyone else catch you, or kill you. (turns to Ayeka) Princess Ayeka...

Ayeka: Yes?

Nagi: Get Ryoko to safety! She’s in no condition to fight, right now! I’ll fight in her place! Just get her out of here!

Ayeka: Right! (has Ryoko lean on her, and they go to the house) Let’s go, Ryoko.

Ryoko: (leans on Ayeka) Thanks, Ayeka. Let’s get out of here.

Ayeka: Right,

Ayeka did exactly as Nagi had instructed, and got Ryoko out of danger. Kagato allowed her to live, for now.

Kagato: So, Ryoko’s out of the battle. Very well...I’ll let her go, for now. Now, unless there are any other challengers, I’ll deal with you, boy.

Nagi realized Kagato wanted to fight Tenchi, and chose not to intervene.

Nagi: Hmph. Go ahead, Kagato.

Tenchi: Well, come and get it! (swipes at Kagato)

Tenchi swipes at the evil fiend, who teleports behind him. Kagato then kicks Tenchi aside, with great force. Tenchi then gets up, and slashes Kagato’s chest...and left cheek.

Kagato: (teleports) Is that the best you can do? I’m starting to think you might not be a worthy owner of that sword. (kicks Tenchi aside)

Tenchi: That does it! Take this! (slashes Kagato’s chest and cheek)

That got Kagato really mad. As a result, he knocked Tenchi over with an energy bolt, all while the wounds healed instantly.

Kagato: What?! (puts his hand on his face and chest, sees his blood) You CUT ME?! Then take this!! (blasts Tenchi)

Tenchi: OOMPH!! (is knocked over)

Kagato: That was a lucky shot, boy...unfortunately, it’s also your last attack. (holds his sword high in the air) TIME TO DIE!!

But, just as Kagato was about to make the final blow, he was stopped by a Juraian energy sword, which cut off his hand. But, he immediately regenerated it, after the original severed hand disintegrated.

Kagato: (sees his hand get cut off) WHAT?! (regenerates hand, and watches his original hand vaporize) Now who’s come to save the day?!

Kagato turned around and noticed Yugi, who was now a teenager. She was also in a Juraian battle suit. It had a gray shirt and dark-green pants, a black vest with red leather lining the shoulders, collar and waist. She wore a dark red belt, with black gloves and boots. Her face was painted gray, and four black streaks on it. (Two on both sides) She had a fierce look of determination in her face. She wore her hair in a ponytail. She was ready to protect her friends, at any cost. She wielded a Juraian energy sword, and was ready to fight.

Yugi: I have. You’ll never kill Tenchi, Sasami and the others, as long as I’m around, Kagato.

Kagato: Ah, so you’re Yugi. I see you’ve changed your ways...too bad. Before, we would’ve been powerful allies, but now you’re helping these losers? Such a waste.

Yugi: We’ll see about that, you vicious monster!!

Kagato is about to square off with the reformed Yugi, who has chosen to fight alongside her friends, Tenchi Sasami, and the others. But can she win? Will she buy Yosho the time needed for him to reveal himself, and fight his arch-nemesis? We can only hope that things will turn out alright in the end.
