Hi everyone! This is Ayeka Fan Club president Lita Eagle and vice president Lesell Charis, here with the latest edition of the monthly AFC newsletter! Well... actually, we missed last month, but hey, better late than never, right? Heh. Sorry about the delay. At any rate, in honor of Ayekas birthday (September 21), weve got some cool new things to announce for the club, so hopefully that will make up for it. ^_^
But before we get to that, we have something very important to say: this club used to be so small that nearly all of us knew each other, and the rules were just an unspoken informal agreement. But now that the club is getting so big, we had to write down the rules to make sure that everyone understands them and follows them. So, please read the AFCs Philosophy, if you havent already. Please folks, this is very important. We need everyone to follow the rules, to make sure that everyone respects each other. Also, we are not responsible if you are offended by something involving the club simply because you ignored any of the warnings or broke any of our rules. The AFCs Philosophy is located at http://ayekafanclub.org/anime/ayeka2/afcphilosophy.html.
And now, on to the fun stuff... a lot of you have requested more pictures, so were happy to announce that the Gallery of the AFC site has a few new goodies for you! Weve added some more things to the Fan Art and Movies sections of the Gallery, plus we have a new section: Four Frame Comics! Well be adding lots more pics soon, so keep an eye out for them! Also, those of you on the Ayeka Fan Club mailing list have heard about the screensaver and fan fics that fellow members have made for Ayekas birthday. Well probably post those on the AFC site soon, so everyone can have easy access to them.
And thats not all! Were very happy to announce that the club now has an official Winamp skin, which you can get from the Downloads section of the AFC site! Many, many thanks to Seion for making such a beautiful Winamp skin for our club! By the way, Seion also made a lot of the cool graphics on our site, so if youd like to send him any thanks or feedback, drop him a line at seion@geocities.com.
Our club keeps growing all the time! Weve had over 20,000 hits on our site, and we now have over 450 members! To help with managing this growing club, we have three new members on the AFC staff. Thanks for helping out, guys! (At the end of this newsletter, theres a list of all the AFC staff members and their e-mail addresses, so youll know which of us you should contact about certain kinds of club-related stuff.) Here are the three new staff members: Shikame, assistant moderator for our mailing list, Jaf, coordinator of the ongoing story in the Members section of our site, and MarvelBoy, who is in charge of organizing the clubs contest.
Thats right, MarvelBoy (AFCs first Official Contest Coordinator) is organizing our first ever contest! ^_^ The Ayeka Fan Club is going to have its own T-shirt, and we want you to help design it! The T-shirt is going to need a slogan and a picture, so if you want you can send MarvelBoy either a slogan or a drawing of Ayeka for the T-shirt. The picture MUST be an original drawing, not a pic taken from existing Tenchi Muyo merchandise. The winning slogan and picture will be used for the clubs T-shirt and will also be featured on the AFC site. If you want to enter this contest, please contact MarvelBoy and ask him for a complete set of contest rules first. Please keep in mind that MarvelBoy is in charge of this contest, so anything you want to send in about the contest (questions, comments, entries, etc.) should be sent to him, NOT the president or vice president. Itll be faster that way. MarvelBoys contest e-mail address is marvelboy_afc_t_shirts@hotmail.com.
Also, there is an online petition created by Garrett Jax for a third Tenchi Muyo OAV series. If youd like to see more Tenchi anime, then feel free to sign the petition and also let other Tenchi fans know about it. The petition is located at http://www2.PetitionOnline.com/OAV3/petition.html
And now, its time for this months fan fic! For those who are new to the club and dont know this yet: in every newsletter we link to a Tenchi Muyo fan fic that was written by an AFC member. Dont worry, we wont link to your story in a newsletter unless we get your permission first. This time, its the fan fic To Love and To Hate, written by the Total Anime Nut. In this story, Tenchi finally understands how much Ayeka and Ryoko love him, but then something bad happens... youll see. Heres the link to the story http://tmffa.com/r-to_love_and_to_hate.html. Please check out the story when you have the time. You can send the author feedback at bkuhn@ucsd.edu.
As always, special thanks to GenSao for allowing us to link to the stories on his site! If youve never been to his site before, its located at http://tmffa.com .
That also brings us to our final announcement... GenSao has worked hard to make a great site full of Tenchi Muyo stories written by fans. He also has a voting booth where you can vote for your favorite fan fics from the site. But lately, weve noticed that people have been filling the voting booth with votes for Tenchi Muyo characters, votes for episodes of the show, and other stuff thats not supposed to be there. So, we thought wed help GenSao out by reminding everyone here that the voting booth is ONLY for voting for fan fics on his site. Nothing else. GenSao has to go through the trouble of counting the votes, and it makes his job harder if people fill the voting booth with weird stuff thats not supposed to be there. So, please follow the instructions carefully if you vote. Thanks!
Thats it for now! Bye, everyone! Have fun and stay safe! ^_^
