Please be polite and follow basic netiquette. If you are found to be rude or abusive you will be kicked from the room and possibly banned, so keep this in mind.
To start chatting with the Java applet:
- Click on this link: DALnet (this will open DALnet’s web site in a new browser window)
- Enter your “Nickname” in the “Chat now!” box
- Click on the “Go!” button
- This will open the “The DALnet IRC Network Chat Client” window
- You should be connected to the #DALnetJava channel when the window opens. If the connection fails, click on the “Connect” button
- After you’re connected, enter “/join #Aeka” in the text box at the bottom of the chat window and press “Enter”
- You should then be in the #Aeka chatroom, ready to chat
- To leave the chatroom, click on the “Disconnect” button
If the Java applet doesn’t work for you, try using an IRC client like “mIRC” instead. You can download “mIRC” at this link: www.mirc.com
To access the #Aeka chatroom with mIRC, do the following:
- Select “DALnet” as your IRC network
- Select a DALnet server that’s close to where you live
- Connect to the channel “#Aeka”
