Review of Wanderers: El Hazard

Title: The Wanderers: El Hazard

Volumes: 7

Length: Vol 1 is 45 min. the rest are 85 min.

Plot: this is the same storyline as El Hazard at the start. I’ll put it up again.

This is about Makoto Mizuhara, a normal teenage boy at Shinanome High School. At his school there is a sneaky student president, Jinnai. He is believed to have taken funds from the student council. He believes that Makoto is his rival and has been trying to foil his plans since they were young. Jinnai’s perky sister, Nanami, seems to have some liking toward Makoto (even more in this series than in El Hazard: The Magnificent World) but absolutely hates her crazy brother. Mr.Fujisawa a history teacher hooked on Alcohol also fits into the picture

All of their world comes crashing down when Jinnai messes around with one of Makoto’s science projects and he accidentally creates a porthole that sends Makoto, Jinnai, Nanami, and Mr.Fujisawa into the alternate dimension of El Hazard.

In The Wanders, the series focus more on some of the characters, something the OAV’s had no time for. It also gives us a more romantic triangle between the princess, Nanami, and Shayla. Even though the romance between Shayla and Makato does not take to much atention like the one in the OAV’s. Ifurita is made a little prettier, but also more clumsier. All in all the series end on a good note.
